DESCRIPTION
Welcome to
our listing on Adirondack “By Owner”. We hope you
will enjoy your visit and that it will be informative
in helping you plan your vacation.
Our island camp is located on Sixth Lake in Inlet, NY.
It is situated on our private wooded island, which is
just a short boat ride from Payne’s Boat Livery
dock. A 20’ pontoon boat is provided for your use
and is conveniently docked near the parking area.
Once you are at the island, take a deep breath, smell
the woods, and take that first canoe trip around the
island and under the foot bridge. There are two docks
on either side of the island for your use. One is for
docking the boats. It faces up the channel toward
Seventh Lake. This dock also gets the morning sun and
is a great place to have that first cup of coffee. The
other dock faces south and gets the sun all day.

The
camp is what we’ve always felt an Adirondack camp
should be. It has a knotty pine interior, wood floors,
two screened in porches with tables and chairs, where
a good, hearty camp breakfast can be enjoyed. There is
a gas grill and a large picnic table for eating
outside.
The
living room is the focal point. It is a large room –
all knotty pine – with a beautiful granite
fireplace. There are very comfortable overstuffed
chairs, a large sofabed, a day bed, a table with
benches, at TV, VCR/DVD, and DirectTV satellite. An
ox-yoke lamp fixture hangs from the tray ceiling.
Off
the living room, separated by a set of French doors,
is the larger bedroom. This has one queen and one full
size bed, a dresser, a wardrobe, nightstands and lots
of windows with curtains. The smaller bedroom is off
the kitchen and has one full size bed, built in night
stands, and shelf space. All windows in the camp offer
lake views, and yet it’s very private as the camp
sets on the high spot of the island.
There
is also a private suite with a queen size bed, full
bathroom, dining/sitting area with its own screened in
porch complete with a small refrigerator and
microwave. It’s the perfect area for grandma and
grandpa!
The
eat-in kitchen is fully equipped – all electric
major appliances and small appliances include a
microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, and can
opener. It has a Vermont Castings wood stove in case
of chilly mornings or evenings. The full bathroom is
off the kitchen area and has been completely updated
with tub and shower. Off the kitchen, on the rear
porch area, is an enclosed area with a washer and
dryer for your convenience.

The
grounds are woodsy and fun for kids to explore. There
is a campfire spot by the water that faces west – a
great place for having a fire in the evening and
watching the sunset. On the back side of the island is
an arched foot bridge that gives access to our land
(woods) on the shore for hiking or exploring. Tall
hemlocks and graceful ferns will make you feel that
Adirondack magic. The loons will confirm this as they
call to each other – that is one of our favorite
sounds in the North Country.
We
allow pets on the island because it is private, and
they are not a bother to us. Smoking is allowed
outside only, using a coffee can or other metal
container for cigarette butts.
The
only things you need to bring are your own linens,
sheets, towels, etc. We do have pillows and blankets.
You may also be interested in a fall rental. It is a
beautiful time of year here, with all its colorful
splendor and the crackling fire in the fireplace.

Attractions:

so “busy”.
