Once upon a time…there was an enchanting story book cottage called Inglenook in the High Peaks of the majestic Adirondack Mountains. Would you like to go back in time, but in a luxurious and pampered way? Then this place will be your slice of heaven!

Inglenook Cottage was built in 1904 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Meticulously restored in 2006 to include modern kitchen and bathrooms, the character of the “Great Camp Era” maintains intact. It is an excellent base camp from which to enjoy day trips all over the Adirondack Park.

Inglenook accommodates up to 8 people.  There are four bedrooms: three with queen beds and one with extra long twin. Plush mattresses, fine Italian linens and towels, and Penhaligon toiletries fit for HRH in London are all standard offerings at this most unique vacation rental cottage. You will arrive to a champagne welcome, fresh flowers and Godiva chocolates. Hair dryers, plush robes, lighted mirrors, cable television and clock radios are also supplied. Every detail has been considered for your comfort and pleasure! 

An intimate and inviting place, the cottage has been equally enjoyed by honeymooners, a writer looking for upscale solitude, family gatherings and anniversaries, and a retreat for world class athletes.  Should entertaining be on your agenda, the kitchen and dining room are beautifully furnished to prepare gourmet meals and serve them in style. The spacious and original bead board screened porches are also lovely dining areas. If you desire the services of a personal chef, an in house massage, or daily housekeeping services we can help arrange with advance notice.

The famed Inglenook, an alcove in the Great Room with a beautiful native stone fireplace is the perfect place for a story told to be long remembered... just as it has been for 104 years.

Inglenook is approximately five hours from New York City, parts of PA, and New Jersey; and about two hours from Montreal and Western New York. It is a different world up here! With six million acres to explore, solitude was never better defined! We are 8 miles from Lake Placid, which continues to be home to many world class athletes. Don’t miss it!

Summers are dreamy up here! Lakes and ponds abound and the Adirondack’s become a water enthusiast’s paradise. Excellent hiking trails for all levels of expertise are plentiful. We will be glad to help you arrange a rental boat, kayaks, etc.  How about a horseback ride or a game of golf?  Maybe touring the historic, quaint villages or nature photography is more your style. There is also an extensive Arts and Crafts library at Inglenook for your learning pleasure.  The Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake should not be missed; nor should the guided walking tour of historic Saranac Lake. Take time to live! Inglenook is a wonderful place to getaway; if only for a while. You will leave feeling relaxed and glad you came!
