DESCRIPTION
This comfortable
home on quiet Lake Edward is available year round. The house is situated on a
point above the lake, with wooded areas on each side of the one+ acre lot. In winter, children go
sledding and tubing down the slope onto the lake, and skate
across to the Big Rock. The gently sloping lawn opens to a pine shaded picnic area, a sunny beach area where toddlers and kids can
wade and swim. A dock, 17' canoe, and rowboat are there for
fishing, moonlight paddling, or exploring the mile long
lake and it's many coves and niches. In winter, cross country ski up the
lake, or travel the snowmobile trails of the area, accessible
from the lake. The quiet environment is never disturbed by gas motor boats of noisy neighbors.
Only the call of the loons can be heard, or an occasional deer or beaver can be seen. A fire pit is
near the beach for evening campfires by the lake, marsh mallow roasts, and story telling.
Overlooking the
lake, a covered patio has a picnic table, gas and charcoal grills, and a glider.
Adirondack chairs and benches are grouped here and there in shady areas, and in the sun for
lake gazing, chats, or watching the sunset. Inside, the Great Room features a field stone fireplace,
comfortable chairs and sofas, TV, radio, music, games, and a small library to browse through,
on rainy or snowstorm days.

The toy basket holds treasures for little ones. Fire wood is provided.
On the main floor are a large living room, dining area, and a fully equipped, eat-in kitchen. A
large dining table, comfortable couch and chairs, TV, and carpeting through out the home make
you feel at home. Perhaps the most dramatic feature of the house is the collection of original oil
paintings of the Adirondacks, and their flora and fauna by an Adirondack artist. Stained glass
windows and lamps complete the beauty of the indoor setting. The
screened/glassed porch with southern exposure overlooks the lake with comfortable lounge and rocking chairs, and has binoculars
for loon watching, or enjoying your coffee as the sun rises.
The
master bedroom has a king bed, large closet, and a crib and high chair are available for tots.
The three other bedrooms feature twin beds, storage, and are fully carpeted. The full bathroom is on the
main floor and has a tub, shower, and storage. The house is handicap
accessible. All linens are provided at no extra
charge. Plenty of towels, sheets, blankets, and quilts for cold
nights.

Nearby is the Sawdust Cafe, with excellent home cooked meals and great weekend breakfasts. A
bed and breakfast is also in the neighbor hood for guests, and has
lake access also. Just minutes away are grocery stores, shopping, several golf courses, miniature golf, Adirondack Animal land, and it's
just minutes to the Great Escape Amusement Park and the
Million Dollar Mile Outlets at Lake George. A great trip is to Saratoga for shopping, the Race Track, and the Saratoga Performing
Arts Center (SPAC). Our upstate villages are charming, rustic, and most have wonderful antique
shops, Adirondack stores, and furniture shops. Museums,
historic forts and homes are local and inform visitors of the history of the Adirondacks and the Mohawk Valley. This is a great
hunting and fishing area, with trout fishing streams, hiking trails, canoe/kayak trails, and climbing
areas abound. Winter sports are especially good, and the Royal
Mountain Ski Area features newly expanded and challenging trails. Lapland Lake Cross
Country Ski Area is nearby (12 miles) and has great cross country skiing for miles. The lower end of the Northville-Lake Placid Trail is just
minutes away. Festivals, Adirondack Music Players,
arts and crafts Shows, and Old Home Days invite guests to participate in the native happenings of the area. In winter, you can ski,
snowmobile, or skate the length of the lake in pristine snow, and enjoy the many snowmobile
gatherings of the area. Travel to the great restaurants and lodges by car or snowmobile as well as
many scenic drives for leaf watching which is spectacular in the area.
For those who just want to relax, this quiet environment helps you to de- stress, unwind, find peace.
