in the hamlet of Jay, NY, complete with fields, creek and even an old
barn (originally a blacksmith's shop). The house is nicely furnished
with three bedrooms, two full baths, a bright and cheery fully equipped
modern kitchen, a spacious family room with wood stove, and a toy room
which can be used as a 4th bedroom if needed. Relax by the cozy
woodstove, on the screened-in porch, or in the sun room. Enjoy the view
of the Jay Range from the field behind the house. Play in the brook.
Take a short walk to local craft shops, the deli for ice cream, the
village green for weekly summer concerts, or the historic covered
bridge that crosses the Ausable River rapids. It's only a 10 minute
drive to Whiteface Ski Resort and snowshoe/hiking trails in the High
Peaks, and less than 25 minutes to Lake Placid. It's a wonderful place
for a family vacation or the couple looking for a peaceful getaway..

HIKE - short mountains like the Crows, Owls Head, Baxter, Silver Mountain, or more difficult hikes like the Jay Mountain Range, Noonmark or Catamount. Or hike a 46er.
SWIM - Ausable River, Wilmington public beach. Lake Placid public beach.
Visit the Blue Mountain Museum, or take the ferry across Lake Champlain and visit the Shelburne Museum.
Lake Placid - Catch a movie or browse the stores in the village.
SKI - both downhill and cross-country.
EAT - many good restaurants in the area.
SLEEP, read, doze, snooze.
