is only 12 miles away and a great place to visit to
learn about the Adirondacks. For a romantic, restful
dinner cruise, the WW Durant is a beautiful excursion
with beautiful scenery, a little history and great
food. There are
scenic train rides minutes away, and Indian Lake has
two fine golf courses for a relaxing round of the
game. Indian Lake also has new happenings this summer
for your vacation pleasure. To our South, is Lake
George for a day of shopping at the outlets or a day
at the Great Escape/Six Flags Fun Park. To our North,
a great day trip, will bring you to the boyhood home
of Almonzo Wilder of "Farmer Boy" fame( the
books by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Little House series
is in our library and are based in fact mixed with
fiction), also near there is the home and burial place
of John Brown. This trip makes a great day for both
young and the not so young. There are great things to
see and do from all sides and Thornbush Acres is a
great central point to return, to relax, unwind, and
remember the events of your day. A binder of
information
is provided for you to look thru when you arrive and
we are in the area to answer any questions you may
have.
If
your day calls for just quiet relaxation, this home
has two large open porches. How about starting your
day with that early morning cup of coffee to watch a
beautiful sunrise, listen to the birds, or just to
watch the wildlife that wanders into the yard. They
are great to enjoy a book, do some needlework or
quilting, or just enjoying the mountain quiet and air.
For
an evening meal, there is a gas grill and the back
yard features a picnic table for a backyard picnic.
There is also a fire ring for an evening around the
campfire, or maybe you would enjoy a night at the
newly opened Indian Lake Theatre and More. What ever
you choose, how about an Ice Cream delight at the Ice
Cream Garden to round out your day.
