DESCRIPTION
This
waterfront home was originally a summer camp which was
rebuilt over 40 years ago to expand the living area
and make it into a year round residence. It was named
"Dawn O'Day" because of its great sunrises
but it also has stunning sunsets. This home sits among
woodlands in a private residential area so it is very
quiet and secure.
The
property embraces its surrounding providing a sense of
peace and harmony. It is a perfect place for
individuals or families who like privacy while
enjoying breathtaking views of the lake and
surrounding mountains - all only steps away.
The knotty pine interior of the home makes it truly a warm and
inviting place. Both levels of the home have
commanding views of the lake which is just a few feet
away. The main level has a bedroom, open
living-dining-kitchen area, screened porch just off
the kitchen, bath and den with additional single bed.
The lower level living area opens on the lake and
very comfortable living room with stone fireplace,
bedroom with two double beds, laundry room with
washer/dryer and toilet, and plenty of room for the
family.
The
kitchen on the main floor comes fully equipped with
microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster and all you
need to make any meal. The home is well equipped
complete with bed linens and kitchen services for
eight.
Lower
level living room has a floor to ceiling stone
fireplace, couch and chairs, stereo, and table
with four chairs that can be used for playing games,
doing art projects or informal meals.
The
washer, dryer and toilet are in the laundry room on
the lower level. Extra storage is available
for toys or other items.
The
main floor has one bedroom with a queen size bed,
dresser, nightstand w/phone and closet. The
bathroom has a tub and shower. The den that
adjoins the living room area has an additional single
bed, writing table, dressers and closet.
The
lower level bedroom has two double beds with a window
that looks on to the lake. All bedrooms have
ample storage for clothing in dressers and there is
plenty of closet space.
Utility
closets on the main level of the house contain
cleaning supplies, vacuum, mop and broom. An
iron and ironing board are also provided.
Full
sun can be enjoyed from the top sundeck on top of the
boathouse and dock. There is room for three boats-one
undercover. The lake bottom is nice and sandy,
great for swimming and diving from the dock. Great
fishing and over fifteen public golf courses nearby.
Blessed
with some of the best views on the lake, this property
with its 310 feet of lakefront comes equipped with
outdoor grills and furniture to use for sunbathing on
the deck or enjoying an afternoon lunch or romantic
dinner under the stars.
Buck
Mountain
just above the property in the
Adirondack
Park
is a wonderful climb and offers panoramic views of
Lake
George
and access to many other hiking trails. Just off
the shoreline is great fishing or you can just sit in
the yard and enjoy the lake steamers as they offer
visitors a tour of the lake. Within a 15 mile
radius there are over 15 public gold courses and
Vermont
is just a half hours drive away.
Lake
George
Village
just 15 minutes from the house offers visitors
interesting and fun things to do or grab a great lunch
or dinner at one of the many restaurants. The Great
Escape,
a world class theme park, is only minutes from
Lake
George
Village
.
Glens
Falls
is only 20 minutes away and offers a variety of
grocery stores and shopping centers to meet all your
needs.
There
is always something great to do in the Adirondacks
& Lake George area. The second and third weekends
in May the Queen's Great Boat Race and the Glens Falls
Blues Festival take place. Bass season opens the third
week in June just in time for Memorial Day and the
second weekend in July is the Antique Boat Show. In
August, the National Vintage Boat Regatta attracts
classic wood boats from throughout the region.
September is a busy month with the Adirondack National
Car Show which is the largest classic car show in the
