Well
equipped kitchen, fireplace, TV, VCR, gas grill, deck,
fire pit, lean-to, and boat. Marina and two restaurants on the
lake. Private sandy beach with shallow water. 15
minutes to Old Forge, 10 minutes to Eagle Bay/Inlet
for great shopping, antiques, water fun park, scenic
railroad, restaurants, and golf. 30 minutes to
Adirondack Museum. Hiking trails are abundant. Enjoy
water sports on the lake or canoe/kayak to the head of
the lake to observe birds and wildlife in the nature
preserve. Deer at your doorstep! Relax in the historic
Adirondacks at their best. Sorry no jet skis.
Cedar View
Camp is nestled into the picture perfect mountains at
Big Moose Lake. The views are spectacular. Tall
hemlocks and graceful ferns line the short path to the
water which can be seen from the deck. The path is
level with the exception of one small incline, no
marathon to reach the water. The loons will confirm
you are in the Adirondacks as they call to each other
- that is one of our favorite sounds of the North
Country. Whether it is hot and steamy or cold and
rainy, families enjoy the experience of togetherness that camping provides. In our quiet family setting,
you can enjoy a rustic wooded atmosphere and still have
all the comforts of home!
Big Moose
Lake is 3.5 miles long with a 3 mile inlet. The inlet
is state owned and wild, perfect for viewing the beavers,
osprey, and a multitude of other animals in their
natural setting. There are several large secluded
bays that you can explore for picnics and hiking.
There are miles of trails to adjacent lakes and
mountains for hiking, swimming, camping or fishing
that run the gamut from easy to expert. Recreational
activities on the main part of the lake include:
boating and personal watercraft, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, tubing, and boarding. The lake has
provided us with a sandy beach that our campers love!
The beach is your own private retreat where you can
watch the activities on the lake and catch some rays!
Our beach gets the sun all day.
There are
two great restaurants on the end of Lake, the upscale
Big Moose Inn and the family orientated Glenmore
Hotel. Both can be reached by boat or car. There are
many other restaurants within a short drive.
If you
like the outdoors, you can do it all right here..
camp,
fish, swim, hike, boat, bike some woodsy back roads or
simply do nothing at all! Introduce your family to the
beauty of the Adirondacks.
