Sunset Cottage, located directly on Star Lake, is comfortably equipped and ready for you to relax in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.  The recently refurbished Sunset Cottage sleeps eight and has three large bedrooms – each with its own full bathroom.  Sunset Cottage is renowned for some of the most beautiful sunsets in the Adirondacks.  You may enjoy the sun setting over the lake and mountains from our deck, dock or spacious yard.

Star Lake, known as the "Gem of the Adirondacks", is a crystal clear spring fed lake with approximately five miles of shoreline with excellent trout and bass fishing. Star Lake is a beautiful body of water that you can fully experience from the private beach at Sunset Cottage.  A well-maintained and challenging golf course is within walking distance, as are restaurants, and a large grocery store. Just a short drive leads to many wilderness trails appealing to a wide range of trekker, many winding their way toward breathtaking waterfalls, lakes and other classic Adirondack views. Star Lake is only 60 minutes away from downtown Saranac Lake home to the new and fascinating Adirondack Museum. Lake Placid and Cranberry Lake are some of the nearby towns offering visitors a look into this unique place known as the Adirondacks. 

Sunset Cottage is freshly remodeled with many new and upgraded amenities.  The kitchen was remodeled in 2007, along with a downstairs full bathroom which includes a new glass enclosed walk-in shower.  The fully equipped kitchen awaits your arrival complete with all the essentials to cook any hearty meal. The first floor also includes a large cozy living room complete with a massive fireplace made of local river rocks.  There you’ll find an assortment of board games, reading material and books, CD player and television with DVD along with some classic style movies.  Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms each with its own bathroom; each bathroom includes an antique claw-foot tub, sink, and toilet. From the master bedroom you’ll wake to a spectacular view of the lake along with its unique sandbar that sits just 150 feet from the dock.

Sunsets are not to be missed and can be best taken in from the large deck in front of the cottage or from the fire pit set in front of the expansive lawn. Come enjoy a true Adirondack experience in this waterfront home where sunsets are truly spectacular. Spend your days swimming, boating or fishing from the dock.  Evenings are best spent roasting marshmallows around the fire pit while counting stars and recounting the days of old.
