Enjoy the tranquility and incredible mountain lake views from Twin
Trees Cottage, an original satellite cottage of the Star Lake Inn.
Surrounded by cedars and old cobblestone walls, this lakefront cottage is ideal
for families looking to enjoy a resort-like mountain vacation. The
cottage looks directly onto the lake, in true Adirondack fashion, with over 50
feet of waterfront.
Star Lake, known as the "Gem of the Adirondacks", is a
23 acre spring fed lake with 4.6 miles of shoreline and maximum depth of 70 feet. This
small community is on Route 3 near Cranberry Lake. It offers incredible
recreational opportunities. Star Lake is just a short scenic drive
from Tupper Lake, Saranac, Lake Placid, and the Thousand Islands. There are
great places to visit -- all just a short drive away; Enjoy great trout
and bass fishing on the lake, or visit the numerous trout streams on the
state land located throughout the area. The surrounding state land
also offers great hiking trails to many ponds and waterfalls. Jogging
around the lake is also popular, which is a pleasant
three mile run. Tennis and basketball courts are always open at the nearby high school. Star
Lake also has a nine-hole, well-maintained competitive public
golf course.

Twin Trees cottage is located on a half acre,
well maintained grassy lot with plenty of room to play croquet or volleyball. Directly in front of
the cottage is a common area beach and boat launch. We have two canoes
with safety vests for our guests to use.
There are two bedrooms, fully furnished with two full sized antique
brass and iron beds, as well as a bunk bed for the kids. The two full
bathrooms are furnished with the original claw foot bathtubs with
showers. There are beautiful hardwood floors and knotty pine walls
throughout. The cottage is tastefully decorated with Adirondack
antiques and collectibles. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware,
utensils, coffee maker, microwave, and service for 6 people. Fresh
drinking water is supplied from the municipal water treatment system. A
large screened in porch looks out towards Snug Harbor and the sand bar.
In addition to our Twin Trees cottage, we also have available for rent
a small two-person camp located just a few hundred feet away.
