DESCRIPTION
Highpoint is a lovely spacious apartment located on the second floor of the above pictured beautiful carriage house. The apartment has a full kitchen, master bedroom, den, full bath, and large living/dining area all tastefully decorated. There is a laundry located on the first floor. A greenhouse is also located on the fist floor and it too is furnished with a table and chairs and glider to relax and even enjoy a rainy day. There is a gas grill located behind the carriage house building to grill your favorite meal.

The property is very private with neighboring homes a good distance away. The deck of the apartment looks out onto a lovely garden and large lawn. The property is totally surrounded by majestic trees on all sides, in fact you almost feel like you are in a tree house when inside the apartment.

The property is located on beautiful Second Lake, which is one of the lakes that make up the Fulton Chain of Lakes. We are located between the towns of Old Forge and Inlet. Second Lake is the least developed lake of the Fulton Chain. The apartment is located just a short walk, about the length of a football field, from the dock and lake. Water activities abound, there are kayaks available for your use, a swimming area, a dock where you could moor your own boat or fish and a small deck on the second floor of the boathouse that overlooks the lake and faces the beautiful Adirondack Mountains. Thanks to the Fulton Chain of Lakes Association, website www.fultonchainoflakesassociation.org, the waters of Second Lake are crystal clear and great for swimming. Sorry but in addition to no smoking, no jet skis are allowed on the property and neither are pets. There is plenty of wild life to see and the call of the loons on the lake is one you should not miss. Boats are available to rent in Old Forge or you can take a cruise with Fulton Chain Cruise Lines.

Old Forge has activities for all ages. See web site www.oldforgeny.com. There are two excellent golf courses, one a Donald Ross design nearby. There are endless hiking trails, a recently designed bike path, mountain climbing opportunities and tennis courts all within a short distance. The Enchanted Forest Water Safari is open daily and fun for children and adults. The Arts Center is open daily and offers many opportunities to enjoy art work and various musical programs. A large library is located in town as well as a movie theater with all the latest releases. There are plenty of excellent restaurants located within a ten mile radius. You can choose from Italian, Chinese and standard American fare. The nearby Moose River meanders through the area and there is ample opportunity to acquire canoe's or kayaks for a lazy day on the River.

There are other activities within an hours drive. The Adirondack Museum located on Blue Mountain Lake is just the place to introduce you to the Adirondacks. The exhibits include both present and past boats, trains, and artwork along with clear descriptions of the Adirondack way of life. Great Camp Sagamore located in the town of Raquette Lake is a trip back in time when the Vanderbilt's vacationed in the Adirondacks.

There is plenty to do or you can just sit back and relax in this wonderful quiet setting with all the comforts of home. You'll need to bring sheets and towels, but blankets, pillows and mattress pads are all provided. The kitchen is completely equipped with cooking utensils, silverware, glasses and dishes. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the den has a couch with a pull out double bed. Maximum capacity in the apartment and on the grounds is four people at any given time.
