DESCRIPTION
Waterfront year-round camp located on the south shore of Lake Pleasant in Speculator, New York which is less than two hours north of Albany. Situated among fine camps on approximately an acre of land with 150' of lakefront with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains to the north. Lake Pleasant, which is clean and attractive, is approximately 1.5 miles by 3 miles.

Speculator is an ideal location for an Adirondack vacation. Speculator has a town beach, playground, baseball field, basketball and tennis courts, casual and fine dining and there is a golf course a few miles away in Lake Pleasant. Speculator is two hours from Lake Placid, an hour from Lake George, less than an hour from Blue Mountain Lake with the renown Adirondack Museum and about 90 minutes from Saratoga with the race tracks and Performing Arts Center. 

This professionally landscaped and well-maintained property features a large lawn and 125' of private sandy beach in a small cove. The camp, which has three bedrooms (each with a queen sized cedar log bed) and one bath with shower, is relatively small but very comfortable. Recent improvements include a remodeled bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The interior of the camp is completely done in tongue and groove pine with Anderson windows and the furnishings are of high quality. The front bedroom has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The camp has a dryer but it does not have a washing machine.

The living room features a Vermont Castings woodstove, electric baseboard heat with a thermostat in every room and a large LPG heater in the living room. There is a 36" TV, VCR and DVD player, and a small stereo in the living room and there are many videotapes and DVDs in the camp. The bedroom facing the lake also has a small stereo system.

The small enclosed porch on the front of the camp has a 10' picture window and is a great place for breakfast or watching a thunderstorm over the lake at night. The front deck is a pleasant place to watch the lake, listen to the loons or quietly read. 

There is a large outdoor fireplace with Adirondack chairs and a hammock near the sandy beach which has a 50' aluminum and cedar dock, chaise lounges and water toys. The water is shallow and excellent for children. There are 13' and 16' Old Town canoes, two kayaks, and a rowboat and paddles and preservers. Lake Pleasant Marine (518-548-7711) rents pontoon and other motorboats by the day or the week.

The large back deck with Weber gas grille is a great place to read the paper on a sunny morning. There is a picnic table in the front yard of the camp. There are rabbits, chipmunks, and hummingbirds on the property and deer are often sighted nearby.

This is our summer home and we are looking for tenants who will leave the property as they found it. The rental cost includes clean linens and towels and it assumes that they will be left clean. No smoking and no pets please.

RENTAL RATES
Rates per week (Saturday 3:00 p.m. arrival through Saturday 10:00 a.m. departure*) are: 
- $1,200 in July and August 
- $800 in June and September
- $600 October through May

10% discount for two consecutive weeks rental.

Winter season rental is available for $4,500 which includes snow plowing, sanding, heat, electric, and firewood.

We request a 25% deposit to confirm the reservation and payment of the balance in full one week prior to the rental. We do not hold/reserve/book any dates until we receive a deposit check. Once we receive your deposit check, we will confirm your reservation by telephone and/or email and send you directions and additional information as needed.

*We are willing to consider other arrival and departure times if needed.

To make a reservation, please check our availability calendar which is kept current. If the date you want is available, please email us and mail us a money order or cashier's check for 25% of the rental payable to "Charles O. Conaway" along with the following information: your name and mailing address, your email address, the week or days that you would like to reserve.
