DESCRIPTION
When
you want a lakeside getaway, this is the place to be. This
chalet styled modern home with knotty pine interior,
spiral staircase and cathedral ceiling sleeps eight with
plenty of room for all to enjoy the breathtaking
lake and mountain views. You can watch the abundance of
humming birds at your doorstep, occasional sailboats and
water-skiers from the private beach or enclosed dining sun
porch.
Located
on a wooded lot with tall trees, there is a 500 foot
private driveway off the main road which opens to a large
lawn giving spectacular lake and mountain views. There is
a large sandy beach providing easy walk-in water access
for swimming, which is ideal for children, i.e., sandy
bottom and no rocks. The beach is furnished with
three
beach umbrellas, eight redwood chairs, four chaise
lounges, a toy box and a brick fireplace. For fishing,
sunbathing or access to an available rowboat there is a 12
x 14 carpeted floating dock extending to the lake from the
beach. Optionally, if it is properly registered, you can
bring your own boat and launch it from our ramp.
There is a small island near the center of the lake which
is a great place for story telling or picnics. Pleasant
Lake
is one of the cleanest lakes in the
Adirondacks
.
In
the house, you will find a fully equipped kitchen,
including a double door ref/freezer, stove and microwave
oven. Filtered water is provided from a deep well. The
kitchen opens out to the separate eating area.
The
living room has a knotty pine cathedral ceiling,
fireplace, ceiling fan, two fold out couches. A large
picture window and sliding glass doors face the lake. For
chilly nights there is a wall unit furnace. A TV and
DVD/VCR are available. The walls are decorated with
an antique sled, skis and assorted "
Adirondack
" memorabilia lending a warm rustic feeling to the
room.

The
adjacent enclosed sun porch has three window walls of
sliding glass doors and a large ceiling fan. It’s
perfect for lakeview dining, card games and
relaxation. It has just been refurbished with wicker
furniture and colorful island print fabrics.
The
master bedroom has a knotty pine cathedral ceiling,
ceiling fan, queen size bed and private bath with a
stall shower. A large mirrored closet affords plenty
of closet space.
The
second bedroom has a knotty pine cathedral ceiling and
ceiling fan. It has two twin beds and plenty of closet
space.
The
third bedroom has one single bed which is color
coordinated with the room.
The
main bathroom is spacious and modern with a sliding
mirror shower/tub enclosure, three way medicine
cabinet and built in sink and vanity.
Mounting
the spiral staircase brings you to the large loft
furnished with three single beds and two couches. It
has a knotty pine beamed ceiling, large windows and an
exhaust fan for ventilation. Puzzles, books and board
games are available here.
Swim,
fish, hike, bike, golf (many courses nearby) or simply
sit around the beach fireplace at dusk and relax.
Enjoy sightseeing the many lakes and local events or
tour the antique marts. Have dinner in a castle,
steakhouse, or rustic country restaurant, all within a
short drive.
