Fernwood is located fifteen minutes from whiteface mountain and thirty minutes from Lake Placid. This cozy and extremely private chalet offers all the comforts a vacation home should have. Enjoy the beauty, nature and peaceful tranquility from your Adirondack chair in the screened in porch or on three separate decks. 

This chalet boasts Adirondack rustic elegance at its very best. Designed and professionally decorated by Ethan Allen, every detail has been addressed from the beautiful leather furnishings to the meticulous attention given to the authentic Adirondack decor. A huge wood burning fireplace is the focal point of this cozy well designed space. Enjoy a wonderful nights sleep on the extremely comfortable queen size pillow top mattresses from Ethan Allen. All bedrooms have premium bed coverings. The master bedroom has a wonderful deck over-looking the pines, making this a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or a nightcap at the end of the day.

Preparing meals is a pleasure in the fully equipped kitchen which includes all the appliances you could possibly need. The automatic dishwasher will make cleanup a breeze. Setting the table to dine on the porch is also made convenient with a pass through window from the kitchen. If you decided to dine out, there are a number of restaurants within ten to fifteen minutes offering everything from casual fare to fine dining.  

A separate family room has a queen size sofa bed, television, DVD, and wireless internet access if you must stay connected to the outside world. A stereo system with radio, CD and IPOD dock are provided for your listening pleasure. A games table completes the room for cards and other activities.

The property is located at the dead end of a very quiet rural lane and is surrounded by huge jack and white pine trees. The forest also has Canadian hemlock, balsam, poplar, birch, sugar maples, and many oak trees. There is an Adirondack lean-to cabin and privy in the woods on the property with it's own outside fireplace for campfires and cocktails. Wildlife is everywhere, with many species of birds, wild turkeys, pheasants, chipmunks and a family of whitetail deer that visit the property on a regular basis.

There is a number of hiking and cross country ski trails just minutes away. Many of the popular high peaks trails and golf courses are also within a fifteen minute drive. The Ausable river, famous for some of the best fly fishing in the country, is just minutes away. All of the best things the Adirondacks have to offer are just outside your door, making this an excellent location for your Adirondack vacation.

Whether it is a weekend getaway or a couple of weeks, Fernwood Chalet will be a place you will want to return to time and time again. This small piece of paradise is not suitable for children or large families. This is however a wonderful destination for a romantic getaway for one or two couples or the perfect honeymoon hideaway. Although Fernwood has three bedrooms all with queen size beds there is only one full bathroom. For those extremely hot summer days there is air conditioning if needed.
