DESCRIPTION
This
camp is very much in character with the historically
typical,
Adirondack
lakefront camp, before people got carried away with
building luxury homes. It has been in the builder's
family for two generations and has been lovingly
maintained. This home has a carport to park one
vehicle. There are some steps and a path down a slight
incline to the camp and also steps down to the lake,
so it's not ideal for people with mobility problems.
The camp has two bedrooms -- one with two twins, and
one with a double bed. There's also a loft with a
ladder for access which has very low headroom and two
twin beds. There is one remodeled full bath with tub
and shower on the main floor. The kitchen comes
equipped with all new appliances (refrigerator,
electric stove, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and
auto drip coffee maker).
The
open deck off the living room overlooks the lake. A
very special feature at this secluded property is the
fully screened Gazebo overlooking the lake with chairs
and small tables for relaxing which is especially
enjoyable in the evening. There is a gas grill and
picnic table for cookouts.
The
living room has a vaulted ceiling and a woodstove with
hearth. The TV/DVD is
on cable and there is a telephone.
This
home is nestled in the tall pines on a hillside facing
East for morning sun. This Cabin is ideal for adults
and older children because of the terrain and because
the swimming is primarily from the dock which has a
ladder at one end where the lake is about 1 - 2 feet
deep with a sandy bottom at that location. The L
shaped aluminum dock is great for fishing and just
sitting. Use of an aluminum rowboat and a canoe are
included and
Friends
Lake
is
renowned for its good fishing because of its limited
access. It is only a short row or paddle to a favorite
fishing spot, "the
Hidden
Island
".
Since
Friends
Lake
has
no marina and no public access, there is no place for
guests to launch a motorboat.
This
log sided cabin is in a neighborhood of nice vacation
homes and is at the end of a long, winding gravel,
road and is about a mile from the turn off from the
paved town road, (which is about a block past the
Friends Lake Inn), so it's very private and
secluded.
Guests must provide sheets and towels. Blankets and
pillows are provided.
Guests must use a credit or calling Card for all long distance calls.
Pets are permitted with prior permission.
Smoking is not permitted.
