DESCRIPTION
Up on Hurricane Mountain there is a very special place for a loving couple, group of friends, or family to enjoy. One has the options of staying at the Cuckoo's Nest which accommodates four, the Nuthatch that will house six, or stay at both.

At the Cuckoo's Nest you will find a huge canopied king sized cedar bed, a 47" LCD TV with Direct Satellite and HD DVD player. In the loft style upstairs area there is a fully equipped kitchen and riverstone shower big enough for two! Out on the deck is a large charcoal grill and furniture to relax on while taking in the mountain atmosphere.

Either sitting in the living room or out on the sweeping deck, one can gaze at the picture perfect view of Cascade and Porter. If you glance down below, one will see the spring fed pond, perfectly swimable! Look up at night to see a sky filled with the crisp twinkling of stars.

Downstairs, there is a small half bath and bunk beds as well as a washer and dryer. Rustic? Yup! But that is all part of the adventure!

During one of our cool summer evenings or after a day of skiing, warm up by the toasty pot bellied stove.

The Nuthatch is a log home made with hand hewn spruce logs milled right here on the property.  There is a wrap around deck with Adirondack chairs that shares the same view as the Cuckoo, which is just gorgeous!

In this retreat there are three bedrooms with a king and two queen beds crafted from magnificent cedar logs.  The living room has a 37" LCD TV and DVD player with Direct TV satellite.  Enjoy sitting by the stone fireplace and gaze out at the tranquil setting.

The Cuckoo and the Nuthatch are 50 feet apart so you will all be close if you are choosing to rent both places together.

Bring your laptop! There is wireless satellite available as well. Because of a generator that kicks in automatically, small power outages that are common up here in the Adirondacks will not disrupt your fun.

Everything about this sweet and wonderful place is top notch. The original artwork and vintage furnishings provide an eclectic and gentle ambience that soothes your soul. Feel the stresses of the cities and suburbs fall away as you gaze upon the deer walking down the hillside, fawns in tow. Listen to the birds sing and the squirrels chatter. Maybe you'll see a fisher or a heron; perhaps a fox trotting furtively by. Once here, you will Look forward to your next visit and dream of it while you are gone.
