DESCRIPTION
THE LOCATION:
Bittersweet is located one mile south of Bolton Landing in Basin Bay and is part of Rainbow Beach Association. This is a family area where houses share a common swimming area, beach, playground, and tennis courts as well as a large dock system. Rainbow Beach has the largest sandy waterfront area on Lake George, approximately 1,000 feet of sandy shore. The area is best described as a quiet vacation spot for families with children that want to spend a safe vacation together. There is a lovely sandy beach and play area as well as a buoyed swimming area with float and sunning dock, perfect for the family vacation. Children can play in the sand and water, the adults have a treed shaded sitting area that has great view of the lake and the kids. You will have a private boat slip during your stay for a boat up to 21 feet. There is a boat ramp right on our property and we have a separate storage area for your trailer. As a great family area there is a new cedar log playground with all the slides, swings, climbing, and tunnels. There is a double tennis court and a separate full court basketball court. There's always the shuffleboard and horseshoes for the parents.

Fishing: The kids can fish right from the dock and catch bass, and particularly during the early part of the Summer, pike and salmon were caught last year by the more serious fishing enthusiasts.

THE HOUSE:
The bedrooms are cozy and charming, one has the original brass bed, and the other has a handmade queen Adirondack log bed. The loft is quiet spacious 20' by 12'. There is tongue and groove pine paneling throughout the house. There are two living areas, one has a dining room table area along with a TV sitting section. The other room also has a TV sitting area and fireplace. Great for families who want to watch the news and not have to compete with the kids and their games or shows. Two different tastes in entertainment can coexist. Both rooms have cable television and most cell phones work in the area. There is a full kitchen that if fully equipped. One full bath with tub and a half bath are on the main floor.

ATTRACTIONS:
There are numerous wonderful restaurants within a short walk, boat ride, or one mile drive into Bolton. You can walk up to the main road and there is a charming German restaurant, Pumpernickels, which has authentic German food. In Basin Bay is also Blue Water Manor which has a lovely bar and spectacular view of the lake. In the next bay is the Algonquin Restaurant which also can be reached by boat or car. In Bolton there are too many restaurants to mention and Lake George Village is only six miles away with a different type of atmosphere if desired. For the kids, the Great Escape in Lake George has all the rides and water slides needed on a cloudy non beach day. A short trip further into the Adirondacks is the Adirondack Museum which is a must for history buffs. A nice backup for a rainy day.
