DESCRIPTION
This
beautiful camp is conveniently located on Stewart's
Landing in the Southwestern corner of the Adirondack
Park. It is 20 miles from Thruway Exit 29A, 77 miles
from Albany, 83 miles from Syracuse, 20 miles from the
Herkimer Diamond Mines and 50 miles from Cooperstown.
It is very nicely furnished for comfortable camping.
There is a fully-equipped kitchen with lots of cooking
and dining space and a cozy gas woodstove in the
living room. The deck overlooks the lawn with a great
view of the water. Chairs and tables are provided for
outdoor dining. A screened sun room porch offers more
views of the lawn and water. The camp is separated
from neighboring camps by trees and shrubs and is far
off the road. There is a large lawn, a campfire pit,
and dock with a shallow swimming are that is suitable
for young children. The opposite shore is completely
wild with thick evergreens and hardwoods. There are
many trails in the area for hiking, cross-country
skiing, and snowmobiling. Canada Lake and Kane
Mountain are a short drive or boat-ride away. Kane
Mountain is an easy climb with a spectacular view and
an antique fire tower on top. Perch, bass, bullheads,
and brown trout may be caught on the lake, including
Lily Lake and Canada Lake, which are connected. There
is a golf course in Caroga Lake, which is a short
drive away. You will have a great Adirondack
experience at this camp without driving hundreds of
miles into the Park.
